SDGoth
is currently running several mailing lists with a total of 200+
members discussing the scene in San Diego County and everything
that comes with it. If you want to contribute, to chat about the
Scene or would like to find out the upcoming events, please join
one of the mailing lists.
so you ask:
1. What is a
mailing list?
It is a "list"
of people with common interests (the San Diego Goth scene) sharing
information via email. It is similar to a newsletter; you send
& receive information using ONE email address, to lots of
recipients (or subscribers).
2. How do I
subscribe?
The mailing
list is handled by EZMLM, a robot, no human action is involved
in list maintenance. EZMLM only understands certain commands.
a. To subscribe
for individual messages send an email to:
members-subscribe@sdgoth.org
b. You will
receive a confirmation email, which you will have to reply to.
(This is to ensure that you really want to join the list.) You
will click reply or simply cut and
paste the reply address into the To: field of your email.
The subject line should be blank. The body of the email should
also be blank.
The reply
address will look something like this:
members-sc.1632.fbc-EMAIL=EMAIL.com@sdgoth.org
c. You will
then receive a second confirmation email stating that you have
been added to the list.
"Hi!
This is the mailing list management program. I'm managing the
members@sdgoth.org mailing list.
Acknowledgment: I have added the address email@email.com
to this mailing list."
3. How do I
unsubscribe?
a. To unsubscribe
from the mailing list, send an email to:
members-unsubscribe@sdgoth.org
b. The same
steps as subscribe will be followed and you will be removed from
the list. Please give the automated robot 48 hours to remove your
address from receiving emails.
4. What do I
do after I'm subscribed?
a. You can
send an email to the list introducing yourself to others.
Or
b. You may
read the items posted by others for a while before considering
making your own posting. By reading a while, you gain an understanding
of the subject matter of the list.
